Dr. Sheth's Clinic - I

Eminent dermatologist Dr. Rekha Sheth was expanding her practice with the establishment of a third clinic in Mumbai when she approached us to work on interiors for the same. Having finalised a 1,200-square-foot space in Kamala Mills, Lower Parel, in addition to the two clinics she already runs in Churchgate and Juhu, the midtown project was to feature consultation and procedure rooms, a hair salon and a retail space for the newly-relaunched Dr Sheth skincare brand.

We opted for sterile white as the predominant colour, and used bleached oak wood panelling throughout, with white marble flooring; it was ensured that all the surfaces were easy to clean, in accordance with hygiene standards.

We combined the reception area with the retail space, so that upon entry a large wall displaying Dr Sheth's product range catches the eye. A mix of brass and marble was used to create the unique display system, featuring elements referencing a chemical laboratory. Terrariums helped add a touch of green to the interior.

With additional consultation and procedure rooms, the project was chiefly driven by pragmatics and functionality, where every square inch was exploited in order to maximise the footprint.
