Lodha's Belmondo residential complex in Pune features a high-end club house, reserved exclusively for the owners of the villas that adjoin the high-rises. It serves as an additional facility to the main clubhouse within the towers, with larger amenities.
A standalone structure facing the golf course was to be divided into a large banquet hall, games room and gymnasium, with lockers rooms for the outdoor swimming pool. In order to accommodate both large and intimate gatherings, we kept the space flexible with a collapsible door between the banquet and games rooms, which when opened up allows for twice the coverage area. In terms of design, the banquet room is clad in leather panelling, while the games room has herringbone wood panels across the walls. The flooring across both is heavily patterned in three shades of marble, and we used well-placed large plants inside for a touch of outdoorsy-ness.
The space opens onto a small private lawn on the backside, which can also be used to host private events. A mix of both hard and soft landscaping allows for both outdoor seating and adequate greenery.
The gymnasium interior is divided into vertical sections featuring mirrors and wood finishes; these continue up the Barrisol stretch ceiling, flooding the room with uniform lighting. The flooring is also part wood in the cardio section, and rubber in the weight-training area.
