Window Design: The Rube Goldberg Machine

July 2017 – October 2017

A Rube Goldberg machine, named after American cartoonist Rube Goldberg, is one designed to execute simple tasks in a deliberately long-winded and complicated manner. Popularised in strip cartoons by Goldberg, the machine is essentially a series of simple unrelated devices connected to each other, where triggering one leads to a commencement of function by the next, in what is a chain reaction to achieve a stated goal.

Our take on the Goldberg machine was a series of whimsical contraptions in every window, each triggered by a curious animal and poised mid-function.
